Why would I use clear adhesive and how.
Why – Depending on your current adhesive you can easily raise your gloss level as much as 100points, depending on current density setting. Cold Foil is translucent and having a dark background makes it darker unlike hot foil which is most times opaque.
How – So how do I use it on press. Quite simple, which ever brand you are using, order the same in clear. With the toned version, build your large window of opportunity / process window, and you can very easily run all day with clear. Setup your job with your toned adhesive first. Once you have optimized your settings, and hit 50 to 60 percent close to the middle of you bottom and top numbers. Swap out your toned adhesive for the clear. The tone is only used for measuring.
